Tony Yayo is dead. At least that’s what the Internet is saying. However the rapper and G-Unit member didn’t die. He’s just the victim of an Internet death hoax.

A report popped up this week saying that Shelton died in a car crash. Global Associated News said that Tony Yayo died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell on April 7. The report says that Shelton lost control of the vehicle and rolled the car, killing him instantly. It then says that memorial service plans will be announced and that he will have a closed casket due to his severe head trauma.

The report is false. Tony Yayo didn’t die in a car crash. Since there are so many details to the accident, it’s easy to believe that its real, but Global Associated News creates fake news reports.

A message at the bottom of the site reads: “FAKE… THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!”

Global Associated News allows people to enter a celebrity name into a generator, which then creates a fake news story about their death. Other celebrities have died in the same exact car crash before. Singer Jesse McCartney, TV host Jerry Springer, basketball star Kobe Bryant and several others were killed in a car crash between Roswell and Morristown.

Despite the report being false, fans are starting to believe the rumor. Several took to Twitter to question and mourn the loss of Tony Yayo. Some examples of tweets include:

“IS TONY YAYO DEAD?”
“Apparently, tony yayo died in a car crash. R.I.P”
“Damn Tony Yayo Died , RIP”
“Well I guess it’s official tony yayo has died… Rip”

Internet death hoaxes have become a trend in the past few months.

Some other celebrities who became victims of a death hoax in recent months include “The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons, actress Megan Fox,  wrestler John Cena, singer Bruno Mars, actor Vin Diesel, musician Skrillex, Rapper Lil WayneActor Vince Vaughn, Tom Kenny, the voice behind SpongeBob Squarepants, country singer Taylor Swift, legendary actor Morgan Freeman, Comedian Bill Cosby, Alfonso Ribeiro aka Carlton from the Fresh Prince, and Bill Nye the Science Guy. All of these celebrities are just fine.

Tony Yayo Dies In Car Crash

(Local Team News 9) Tony Yayo died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident – April 7, 2013

Tony Yayo flipped vehicleHighway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Tony Yayo lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.

The vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident.

Witnesses have stated that Tony Yayo’s car crossed the double lines several times prior to the accident and hit the center lane divider causing the vehicle to flip and roll.

Toxicology tests will be performed to determine whether he was driving under the influence, however initial findings indicate that durgs or alcohol did not contribute in any way to this accident as it was more likely to been caused by road conditions.

Memorial services for Tony Yayo have not yet been announced. The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral due to the severe head trauma.

Additional details and information will be forthcoming as they become available.

Rick Ross and Meek Mill Lyrics Lead to Police Bust of More Than 60 Harlem Gang Members

Rick Ross and Meek Mill Lyrics Lead to Police Bust of More Than 60 Harlem Gang Members

A group of Harlem gangsters were arrested when they boasted about their illegal activities on social media networks. Some of their comments were lyrics to songs from Rick Ross and Meek Mill.

According to an indictment released earlier today, members of Air It Out, True Money, Whoaday and the True Money Bosses took to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to coordinate their moves.

“God forgives I don’t … somebody gotta die,” one alleged member of the gang “Air It Out.”

“I’m 2 Glocks strapped, rolling down 112th Madison, 116 this is the New Iraq,” boasted another alleged AIO member.

“I’ll give u $300 if u clap a Trill or Whoadey before October,” another alleged Air It Out gangster said.

The gang members were charged with numerous assaults, three murders, 30 shooting accounts, gun possession and trafficking. Charges range from felony conspiracy to murder in the first degree, to fourth degree criminal weapon possession.

“Today’s indictments chronicle a bloody gang war that claimed the lives of at least three teenagers, led to the shooting of dozens of individuals and put bounties on people’s heads,”said Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance. “Since October 2009, 68 shootings have occurred in the swatch of East Harlem that these gangs all call home. Forced to live among this senseless violence is the silent majority–innocent families who live in fear of getting shot while trying to go about their daily lives. Today’s cases are a part of my Office’s ongoing efforts, working with the NYPD, to strategically target areas that claim a highly disproportionate share of violence in Manhattan.”

He continued, “There is a lot of social networking and investigation using the Internet that all of us use now in law enforcement. The Internet is our 21st Century crime scene.”

Kid Cudi Leaves Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music Rapper splits with longtime label home.

Kid Cudi, Kanye West

Kid Cudi dropped a pretty big bomb yesterday afternoon: he’s no longer on G.O.O.D. Music.  The “Girls” rapper checked in to L.A.’s Power 106 radio station Tuesday, making the announcement to on-air personalities Yesi Ortiz and DJ Felli Fell.

Asked about how he’s been treated by the label, Cudi casually responded “Everything is cool,” only to follow up the praise with news of his departure. “I am announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music.”

Knocking down any obligatory talk of a Cudi vs. Kanye West beef, the 30-year-old said that he consulted his boss about wanting to go in a new “direction” — as in working his own label, Wicked Awesome. “He got it because he’s trying to start his new path and trying new things  as an artist” Cudi explained. “He was just like, ‘Man I feel you!'”

Rather than jump head first into the label game, Cudi plans to keep it small and will focus on his artist King Chip (formerly Chip the Ripper). Based on the speech, the Ohio native must’ve really thought his plan through and has known that the end was near for “at least” six months now. He also spoke with Jay-Z to get his opinion on how to “approach” Kanye so as not to offend his longtime friend. In the end, Yeezy was receptive to the whole thing and Cudi is off to blaze his on trail.

With Hov and Ye to advise him, (hopefully) he can’t go wrong.

Cudi’s Indicud album drops April 23.
