Spike Lee was given his own street by the City of New York. “Do The Right Thing Way” will replace Stuyvesant Street (Lexington and Quincy). Okay Brooklyn

The iconic “Do the Right Thing” (1989) by Spike Lee, was filmed entirely on this street – Stuyvesant between Lexington and Quincy – here in the Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn. Here, Mookie (Spike Lee) the delivery man for the pizza place owned by Sal Frangione (Danny Aiello), reveals a story of racial tensions rise in the midst of a heatwave. The neighborhood becomes violent when two local African American men are apprehended by police and one, Radio Raheem (Bill Nunn), is killed. “Do the Right Thing” is one of the most controversial and greatest films of its time as it looks deep into race relations in the urban setting.

Do the Right Thing is a 1989 American comedy-drama film produced, written, and directed by Spike Lee, who also played the part of ‘Mookie’ in the film. Other members of the cast include Danny AielloOssie DavisRuby DeeRichard EdsonGiancarlo EspositoBill NunnJohn Turturro, and Samuel L. Jackson. It is also notably the feature film debuts of Martin Lawrence and Rosie Perez. The movie tells the story of a neighborhood’s simmering racial tension, which comes to a head and culminates in tragedy on the hottest day of the summer.

The film was a commercial success and received numerous accolades and awards, including an Academy Award nomination for Lee for Best Original Screenplay and one for Best Supporting Actor for Aiello’s portrayal of Sal the pizzeria owner. It is often listed among the greatest films of all time.[3][4][5][6] In 1999, it was deemed to be “culturally significant” by the U.S. Library of Congress, and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry, one of just five films to have this honor in their first year of eligibility.

Martin Star, Tichina Arnold Puts French Montana in His Place via Instagram

Two weeks ago a picture of Tichina Arnold, who’s most famous for her role as “Pam” on the classic sitcom Martin in which the actress seemed to be having a pretty bad hair day. The picture was met with a slew of jokes, and French Montana took to his Instagram to get in on the fun. Montana posted the picture to his Instagram account coupled with the caption, “I wish Martin could see this right now. He would tear her ass up.” Well, it seems Montana must’ve forgot that “Pam” isn’t one to take one on the chin, and she responded with a rather lengthy and condescending post via her own Instagram putting the rapper in his place in a way that only she could:

Man oh man. Mr. Montana, I’ve perused (read through with thoroughness and care) your #instagram profile description, pictures & posts… but despite my determined effort, I STILL don’t have a CLUE to one very simple question… “Who ARE you?”.. I mean other than reading that you’ve dated aKardashian, and you seem to enjoy taking extraneous pictures with LEGITIMATE celebrities, I’m baffled (perplexed, confused) as to WHO you are & WHAT you actually DO? How do you contribute to society? What do you do to HELP those in need? What philanthropic works have you done? Are you on the board of any charitable organizations? Do you posses your own charitable organization? Do you own your name? How many of your followers are actually REAL followers and not computer generated? Oh.. And one other thing, if you are gonna post or repost things about other people (such as myself). FYI: Maybe you should put more effort into aligning yourself with people who can ASSIST you with building your brand for longevity, only THEN will you be prepared to (as your boy Martin would so clearly put it) “Stomp with the big dogs”. But either way, I’m pleased to know you are a true fan of the Martin show despite what criticisms you have. Your continued support is proof that for over 30 years, I have CONTRIBUTED something of VALUE on television to many people (including yourself) and many generations and hopefully more to come. Hit me up and maybe I can hook you into individuals who have “Serious Inquiries” regarding hiring you. I just need to know what exactly it is that you are SELLING, because unfortunately, I STILL don’t know. Keep your head up & GOD Bless! TICHINA … Oh! One more thing, if you know of anyone who has an auto immune disease such as #Lupus, go check out my 501c3 organization at – Unfortunately thousands of women (and men) battle with this constant life threatening #autoimmune #disease everyday. It would be AMAZING if you made a donation instead of losing 40k in one on one basketball bets with your cohorts. Your positive & monetary support would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you for your time.

French who’s currently in South Africa for the MTV Africa Music Awards has yet to respond, but it’s safe to say he’ll think twice before taking shots at another professional comedian. Check out the Instagram posts that started the war below.
