The rapper is set to be released later this month after serving six years of her eight-year sentence
Remy Ma is coming home!
The former Terror Squad rapper is being released from prison on July 31, after serving six years out of an eight year sentence for shooting her former friend in the abdomen.
In 2008, Remy Ma (born Reminisce Smith) 34, was convicted of assault, illegal weapon possession and attempted coercion in the shooting of Makeeda Barnes-Joseph, who Smith alleges stole $3000.00 from her. She was sentenced to eight years.
In the years since, Barnes-Joseph filed an $80 million civil suit against Remy, claiming that after several corrective surgeries, the shooting caused severe complications including numbness in both legs and digestive problems as a result of the damage the bullet did to her intestines.
